Hello, I'm Prof. Dr. Yuksel Cem AYGÜN. I was born in 1968 in Zonguldak. After completing my primary and secondary education in Zonguldak, I attended the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1986. I graduated in 1992. Between 1992-1997, I completed my residency at Hacettepe University, Department of Urology. Afterwards, I had the opportunity to study pediatric urology at Hacettepe for about 6 months. I became Associate Professor of Urology in 2004 and Professor of Urology in 2011 at Başkent University, which I entered in 1998. In 2011, I received a Diploma in Pediatric Urology from the Ministry of Health. Afterwards, I continued to work at Başkent University for 10 years. I have been working in my own clinic since September 2020. In the field of Pediatric Urology, we observe recurrent urinary tract infections, urinary leakage into the kidney, urinary tract obstructions, abnormalities of the male genitalia and ovaries. We can cite hypospadias, undescended testis and water hernia also as examples. I focus on these complications. After completing my Urology residency at Hacettepe University, I had the opportunity to study pediatric urology at Hacettepe for 6 months. Afterwards, I did not work in any place other than Başkent University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Urology, from the beginning until my retirement. After retiring from Başkent University, I opened my own clinic and started to work here. In a year, I take in about 800 patients. I undertake 150 surgeries. The most important thing for me when choosing doctor is to pick one that is experienced and reliable. How do you find them? It is very difficult for me to tell exactly how, but referals from patients are a starting point. I have been serving in the field of pediatric urology for 25 years. I worked in institutions where pediatric urology was the main focal point. Pediatric urology, unlike general urology, denotes a specific study. Their diseases are different from each other. There are differences in the initial approaches to patients. First of all, it requires some dedication. It is very important to have a sympathetic approach and good communication with families when approaching children. At the same time, it is necessary to have the competence to perform surgeries when necessary. Factors that our patients should consider in choosing a physician are the experience of the physician, his command of the subject, his ethical behavior characteristics, his willingness to give proper attention to patients, his ability to empathize, these are important characteristics. I think I have these. Therefore, if you have any complications regarding these subjects, I am always here to help. I wish everyone a healthy and happy day.
